There was a lovely party atmosphere in all of our homes over the extended Platinum Jubilee weekend. We all had a great time.

The service users and staff in each of our six specialist care homes all planned their own activities and made or put up decorations. Some of the guys created some special jubilee displays during their arts and crafts sessions. These sessions support fine motor skills and concentration, while helping to build confidence and self-esteem. Other people made paper-chains, bunting and crowns or baked celebratory cakes.

We had tea parties in the gardens, outdoor games, royal-themed quizzes and bingo. And there was music and dancing. We even had a special appearance by ‘Elvis’ – one of guys did his favourite party piece and dressed up as ‘The King’ to join in the festivities!
