Easter Activities at Richardson Care

9th April 2024 0

We aim to offer a wide range of activities for the service users in our specialist homes. These are both within the home and the neighbouring community. Each individual is supported to make their own choices so that they can do the things they love.

At Easter, we supported some service users to go to their church and celebrate with the congregation. The Easter celebrations in our homes also gave everyone the opportunity to come together as a community and enjoy some Spring and Easter-themed activities. This sense of community helps to support service users’ wellbeing as well as supporting their communication and inter-personal skills. In addition, specific activities help to improve memory, cognitive and fine motor skills, as well as being fun to do.

The Easter Bunny visited each of the homes and was greeted with much enthusiasm as he handed out mini chocolate bunnies. Being an experienced multi-tasker, he also ran music sessions during his visits, encouraging and supporting our service users to sing along, relax and enjoy themselves.

Sallie, our arts and crafts lady, supported the guys to make Easter decorations and decorate the homes. They also made (and ate) chocolate Easter nests and decorated cakes.

In addition, we put together Easter-themed activity packs, which included word-searches, puzzles, mazes and colouring in. And of course, there were the traditional Easter-egg hunts, which everyone enjoyed.
