We’re pleased to announce that, following a restructure, Dr Pedro Areias Grilo has been appointed Clinical Head at Richardson Care. Pedro is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and has been part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) at Richardson Care since 2014.
Pedro will continue his role in leading the psychology team and supporting service users. Part of the Senior Management Team, Pedro is now also responsible for leading the MDT and ensuring the quality of clinical care.
Greg Richardson-Cheater, Director says: “We’re delighted that Pedro is now our Clinical Head. He understands the ethos of Richardson Care and his innovative work in reinforcing positive behaviour is testament to this.
“He knows our client groups extremely well and the challenges of maintaining our service users’ quality of live. Keeping complex cases in the community, and out of crisis care, will be assisted by his appointment.”
In addition, Pedro will be supporting the admissions and management teams in the assessment of complex referrals.
Greg adds: “We have recently undertaken a review and realignment of our services and will be extending our care pathway. These are exciting times for Richardson Care and we’re very pleased to have Pedro fully on board.

Pedro has special interests in progressive and non-progressive neurological conditions and mental illness. He also holds a consultant role within the NHS and he is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of East Anglia and at the Portuguese Institute of Psychology and Other Sciences.
