Registered Homes Manager

Nikki Hives

Nikki has worked in specialist care support since 2005. She has held management and senior positions in a range of settings, achieving successful outcomes for service users with different complex and challenging needs.

Nikki’s experience has included working with children with autism, learning difficulties and mental health needs, young people leaving care and adults in the criminal justice system. She also has extensive knowledge and experience in housing related support.

Her varied career has involved building strong working relationships with multi-agencies to deliver a wide range of support services to meet individuals’ needs.

Nikki joined Richardson Care as Manager at The Coach House in July 2021 and her skills make her well-equipped for multi-faceted role of a Registered Homes Manager supporting adults with acquired brain injuries. She is responsible for ensuring the well-being of each service user, that their care plan is implemented, maintained and reviewed on a regular basis, delivering positive outcomes and ensuring compliance. In addition, Nikki is responsible for supervising and supporting staff within the home and works with other Homes Managers as part of the Richardson Care multi-disciplinary team.

Nikki is a warm, caring person whose passion and commitment to her role is clear. She says that her experience in working with high risk offenders has made her non-judgemental and made her more aware that everyone’s circumstances are different.

She says: “I love the real family feel that the homes offer here. We look after people with complex needs, so the nature of the job can be stressful at times, but I feel really well supported. The managers catch up every day and have weekly meetings. The communication is very good.

“It’s clear that all the managers really care about what they do and everyone works well as a team. For example, if there’s an incident in one of the homes, then everyone comes together to help – that’s the managers, care staff, maintenance guys. Everyone.”

Outside work, Nikki enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as visiting new places in England or abroad, walking and cycling.
