As part of the Admissions & Referrals Team, Lewis is responsible for building professional relationships with solicitors, case workers and social workers to facilitate admissions into the services at Richardson Care. He enjoys the personal responsibility of the role as well as working as part of a team.

Lewis also enjoys the variety of the role, which includes taking part in industry conferences and events. He attends assessments of individuals with acquired brain injury or learning disabilities to see if Richardson Care can meet their needs. He says that the most satisfying aspect of his job is seeing a referral through to completion and the difference that it can make to someone’s life. It can be a complex process with the service user, their family, case worker and solicitor all involved to find the right placement. Lewis’ calm and patient nature is certainly an asset in these situations. He says that it’s great to see the service users settle in and thrive in the right environment.

As the Admissions & Referrals Team is based at The Richardson Mews, Lewis also gets to see some of the residents there every day and it’s nice that they are always excited to see him.

Lewis has a busy life outside work with two young sons and he still plays semi-professional football.
