Laura is responsible for completing monthly quality assurance audits at each home. She checks that systems and procedures are followed to ensure that we provide a safe environment for service users and maintain compliance with CQC regulations. This includes checking medications, care plans, health & safety and environmental health procedures. When a new service user is admitted to a home, Laura ensures all the paperwork is in order and follows through all the administration required.
Laura’s role as staff co-ordinator involves recruitment, managing rotas, annual leave, pensions and HR administration. She is a skilled multi-tasker and always happy to help out when needed. Her office is based at 144 Boughton Green Road, a home providing long-term rehabilitation and residential care for men with acquired brain injury. Laura says: “I’ve been here as long as some of the guys! It’s lovely that the admin staff are based at the homes. It creates a bigger community and I love seeing the guys. It brings you back to reality and reminds you what you’re there for.”
Laura adds: “It’s a very homely environment and I love working for a family business. I feel supported and listened to in my role, and that my work and opinions are valued.”
Greg Richardson-Cheater says: “Laura is my go-to person for any bespoke task that needs an impartial and analytical approach. I really value her unwavering commitment to her role and her ability and willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks.”
When not at work, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, Dexter, and walking their three dogs. She is also a season ticket holder at Northampton Saints Rugby Club.
