Music Enrichment Leader

Darren Kendall

Darren delivers weekly interactive music enrichment sessions in our homes. Darren has worked as an Activity Support Worker and Senior Support Worker at Richardson Care for 18 years.

Combining this experience with his passion for music, and seeing the transformative effect that it has on our service users, Darren has developed a range of music enrichment sessions.

The sessions are designed to meet the needs of the service users while encouraging interaction and participation. He says: “Music and movement tends to be one of the top motivators for individuals with special needs, it’s a fun and motivating way to connect and helps them develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.

“Music plays a big part in brain stimulation, and I try to find the right songs that will connect with different people – often the songs that they were brought up on. This can be influenced by their age and culture, and it’s a joy when you make that connection.
