This specialist service is suitable for adults with an established diagnosis of learning disability and intellectual difficulties and comorbid conditions, such as mild to moderate symptoms of mental illness and personality disorder, progressive neurological conditions. They may present with mild to moderate challenging behaviour.
This service is ideal for individuals whose complex behaviours are stabilised and forms a transition to more independent living.
Our transitional and long-term LD and complex needs service is located at 23 Duston Road, a detached, spacious Edwardian property in the Duston area of Northampton. There are three ground-floor bedrooms, which are wheelchair accessible, and have accessible ensuite shower rooms. There are six bedrooms on the first floor, all with ensuite facilities. Bedrooms can be decorated to suit the service user’s preferences and they are welcome to bring some of their own furniture to personalise their rooms.
23 Duston Road has a large panelled dining room and two living rooms on the ground floor, which are light and airy. Service users are supported to prepare their own food in the house kitchen, should they wish, depending on their functional abilities. Our ethos is to buy fresh ingredients and prepare food daily.
There is an enclosed garden at the back, with raised beds, grass areas, seating, summer house and trampoline. It is semi-enclosed at the front with car parking spaces.
The local community of Duston has a range of shops, cafes and other facilities. It is also close to Northampton’s rugby and football stadia, bowling alleys, bingo and a cinema complex. It’s also just a few miles from Northampton town centre with additional shopping and leisure facilities.
